FBI Continues Global Search for ‘Crypto Queen’ Ruja Ignatova Over Alleged Multi-Billion Dollar OneCoin Fraud

The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is continuing its global search for Ruja Ignatova, widely known as the “Crypto Queen,” nearly a decade after she disappeared while facing allegations linked to one of the largest cryptocurrency fraud schemes in history.

Ignatova, founder of the cryptocurrency project OneCoin, vanished in October 2017 after reportedly boarding a flight from Sofia, Bulgaria. She has not been publicly seen or reliably traced since.

OneCoin was promoted as a revolutionary digital currency and a rival to Bitcoin, attracting millions of investors across the world. Authorities later alleged that the project was a massive fraud that generated billions of dollars from investors before collapsing.

As investigations intensified and several individuals associated with the scheme were arrested, Ignatova disappeared, triggering an international manhunt.

The FBI continues to list Ignatova among its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives and has offered a substantial reward for information leading to her arrest. Despite years of investigations, no confirmed information has emerged about her whereabouts.

Over the years, numerous theories have circulated, ranging from claims that she is living under a new identity to speculation that she may no longer be alive. However, none of these claims has been officially verified.

Nearly nine years after her disappearance, the fate of Ruja Ignatova and the billions of dollars allegedly linked to the OneCoin scheme remain among the biggest unresolved mysteries in the world of financial crime.
