Femi Otedola Acquires £53 Million Mansion in London’s St John’s Wood

Nigerian businessman Femi Otedola has reportedly acquired a luxury mansion in London valued at £53 million, approximately $72 million, further underscoring continued interest by global high-net-worth investors in the United Kingdom’s premium real estate market.

According to a report by Bloomberg, the purchase was completed late last year based on a UK property filing.

The 10-bedroom mansion is located in St John’s Wood, one of London’s most exclusive residential districts situated near Regent’s Park and the famous Lord’s Cricket Ground.

The property, reportedly built in 2016, features luxury amenities including a private cinema, spa, and cigar room. It was previously listed for sale at £75 million in 2020, according to media reports.

Otedola currently serves as Chairman and majority shareholder of First HoldCo Plc, with investments spanning banking, energy, shipping, and insurance sectors.

The acquisition reflects ongoing activity in London’s high-end property market despite recent increases in property taxes and changes to tax rules affecting foreign investors.

Luxury neighbourhoods such as St John’s Wood, Belgravia, Chelsea, and Hampstead continue to attract wealthy international buyers seeking privacy, prestige, and long-term asset value.

The development also highlights the growing presence of prominent Nigerian business figures in London’s luxury real estate sector.

In recent years, several Nigerian executives and investors have reportedly acquired multimillion-pound properties across the UK capital as part of broader international investment portfolios.
