Gov. Otti Inaugurates 20 More Electric Buses to Boost Abia Green Shuttle Service
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has inaugurated an additional 20 electric buses for the Abia Green Shuttle Service, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to providing safe, affordable and environmentally friendly public transportation across the state.
The inauguration ceremony took place on Thursday at the Nnenna Otti Bus Terminal in Umuahia, where the Governor said the new fleet would significantly expand the state’s transport network and improve mobility for residents.
Governor Otti explained that the additional buses will serve both intra-state and inter-state routes, enhancing access to reliable transportation while promoting cleaner and more sustainable mobility solutions.
He noted that the deployment fulfils his administration’s pledge to increase the number of electric buses after the successful launch of the first batch of 20 buses in December 2025.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to continue investing in modern transport infrastructure and innovative solutions that improve the quality of life, stimulate economic activities and support sustainable development across Abia State.
The expansion of the Abia Green Shuttle Service marks another milestone in the state’s drive towards an efficient, eco-friendly and accessible public transportation system.
