Reality TV star and entrepreneur Mercy Eke has opened up about her relationship and marriage plans, revealing that she is eager to settle down but believes her partner feels she is not yet ready for marriage.
Speaking on the “Toke Moments” podcast, Mercy disclosed that she and her partner have been together for about four years and that she hopes to eventually marry him.
According to the reality star, her partner has repeatedly told her that she needs more time before taking the step into marriage, a position she said she does not fully understand.
“He keeps saying I’m not ready. I don’t know what it is that I’m doing that he says I’m not ready,” Mercy said.
Explaining why she believes she is prepared for marriage, the former reality show winner said she feels emotionally and mentally equipped for the next phase of her life.
“I feel I’m of age, I’m successful, and mentally I think I’m ready. I’m homely, I think I can manage a home. I’m ready for that next level,” she stated.
Mercy also revealed that she would be willing to make personal adjustments, including stepping away from work, if her future husband requested it.
“I will give it up. I want to relax,” she said.
The entrepreneur added that she plans to have a serious conversation with her partner about their future, noting that both of them are currently in the same city.
“I’m going to ask him. We are both in the same city. I feel like he’s the one that is not ready. I’ll have that conversation with him,” she added.
Mercy Eke, who gained national recognition after winning the fourth season of the Nigerian reality TV show Big Brother Naija in 2019, has remained one of the country’s most prominent media personalities and entrepreneurs. Her comments have sparked conversations among fans about relationships, marriage expectations and balancing personal goals with family life.
