NAF Conducts Overnight Airstrikes on Suspected Terrorist Positions in Zamfara

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reportedly conducted overnight airstrikes on suspected terrorist positions around Bagega Forest in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Local sources said the strikes targeted multiple locations in the forest following the reported movement of a large convoy of armed terrorists, involving hundreds of motorcycles, from operations around the Zamfara-Sokoto border.

Residents in the area reportedly heard heavy aerial activity followed by explosions across parts of the forest, amid ongoing military efforts to disrupt terrorist groups operating along the forest corridors.

However, the exact number of targets hit and casualties recorded among the terrorists could not be independently verified as of the time of filing this report.

The Bagega axis has previously featured in military air and ground operations aimed at degrading terrorist networks and restricting their movement across Zamfara and neighbouring areas.

The latest operation is reportedly part of ongoing efforts by the military to disrupt the activities of armed groups operating in the region.
