Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued four kidnapped victims during separate intelligence-led operations in Zamfara and Kebbi states as the military intensifies efforts to combat terrorism and kidnapping in the North-West.
The victims were rescued on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, during operations in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State and along the Bena-Sawade axis in Kebbi State.
In Zamfara State, troops responded to reports of a terrorist incident on a farmland across a river in Binoni Marafa, Maru Local Government Area, following credible intelligence.
The operation resulted in the rescue of two victims, identified as Mansur Shehu, 25, and Kadijat Haruna, 49.
In a separate operation in Kebbi State, troops launched a search-and-rescue mission along the Bena-Sawade axis following reports of suspected terrorists moving with kidnapped victims from Dupindu Village, Kanya District, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area.
The operation led to the rescue of two victims, identified as Jimoh Su-Arege, 35, and Kalahe Danjuma, 41. The rescued victims were subsequently handed over to the Seriki of Dipindu.
