According to sources, the second welfare flight for June 2026 was conducted on June 16 using a Value Jet aircraft as part of ongoing efforts to enhance troop welfare and operational effectiveness.
The airlift involved the deployment of 155 personnel into the theatre to resume operational duties, while 174 personnel were transported out of the theatre to proceed on leave, reunite with their families, and recuperate after extended periods of deployment in the conflict zone.
Sources said the movement of personnel was carried out smoothly without any incident or disruption to ongoing military operations.
The COAS Welfare Flight Programme is designed to support troop rotation and improve the wellbeing of personnel serving in challenging operational environments. Military authorities noted that the initiative has continued to play a vital role in maintaining morale and ensuring troops receive adequate rest after demanding assignments.
According to the sources, a total of 33,426 personnel have been transported in and out of the Operation HADIN KAI theatre since the commencement of the welfare flight initiative.
The Nigerian Army has consistently emphasized the importance of personnel welfare as a key component of operational success, with the programme providing soldiers the opportunity to reconnect with their families while sustaining the effectiveness of military operations in the North-East.
Operation HADIN KAI remains at the forefront of efforts to combat insurgency and restore lasting peace across the region, with troop welfare continuing to receive priority attention from military leadership.
