President Bola Tinubu has landed in Lagos State to oversee the official unveiling of the highly anticipated Lagos Red Line rail project.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, during the unveiling of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Red Line Ikeja Overpass in December 2023, had assured the public that the rail system would be inaugurated by President Tinubu before the close of the first quarter of 2024.

He emphasized that once operational, the Red Line rail is expected to accommodate approximately 500,000 passengers on a daily basis.

“The completion and formal commissioning of this essential infrastructure marks a significant milestone preceding the commencement of passenger operations for the Red Line, which will be inaugurated by our esteemed President, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, within the first quarter of the coming year,” stated Governor Sanwo-Olu.
