Terror Strikes Chibok Again As Boko Haram Attack Leaves Two Dead, Many Injured

In a harrowing assault on Tuesday evening, Boko Haram insurgents targeted Chibok town in Borno State, claiming the lives of two individuals and inflicting injuries on several others.

The town gained international attention in April 2014 when Boko Haram abducted over 300 students from the Government Girls Secondary School.

The latest attack unfolded around 7 p.m., with residents, including Moses Adamu, recounting how they sought refuge in surrounding bushes as insurgents unleashed violence—shooting, burning houses, and looting food supplies.

Adamu stated that a significant number of residents spent the night in the wilderness, while some sought shelter in neighbouring communities.

“We are certain that two persons died of the terrorists’ gunshots, but there could be more which we cannot ascertain yet because those who fled started returning home this afternoon,” Adamu revealed.

The Borno State Police Command confirmed the attack, highlighting a swift response from a collaborative effort involving the military, police, and local vigilante groups.

ASP Nahum Kenneth, the state Police Public Relations Officer, conveyed, “The attack was repelled by the joint effort of the military and the police.
