Tinubu Congratulates Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Historic Leadership Milestone

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on reaching a historic milestone as India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister.

In a statement issued from the Presidential Villa, Abuja, President Tinubu described the achievement as a reflection of the enduring trust and confidence the people of India have placed in Modi’s leadership across three consecutive mandates.

He commended the Indian leader’s commitment to national development, public service, and his influence on the global stage, noting that his leadership continues to inspire millions around the world.

President Tinubu also highlighted the strong bilateral relations between Nigeria and India, describing Prime Minister Modi as both a valued international partner and a personal friend.

According to him, Modi’s contributions to strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between both countries remain significant, adding that his recognition as a recipient of Nigeria’s national honour, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), reflects his role in deepening cooperation between Abuja and New Delhi.

“Beyond being a great friend of Nigeria, Prime Minister Modi is a personal friend and trusted ally whom I can always count on,” President Tinubu said.

He extended goodwill wishes to the Indian Prime Minister, praying for continued good health, wisdom, and success in office.

The President’s message reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with India across trade, technology, and global cooperation.
