CDS Hails Traditional Rulers as Pillars of Stability During Dein of Agbor’s Visit
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, on October 15, 2024, hosted His Royal Highness, Dein Keagborekuzi Benjamin Gbenoba I, the Dein of Agbor Kingdom, at Defence Headquarters. During the courtesy visit, General Musa lauded traditional rulers as crucial pillars for national stability, emphasizing the Armed Forces’ ongoing collaboration with traditional institutions to fulfill its constitutional mandate.
General Musa expressed his appreciation for the Monarch’s visit, affirming the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s (AFN) commitment to safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity and ensuring peace across all regions. He reassured the Dein that the military remains resolute in addressing all forms of insecurity to maintain national stability.
In his remarks, the Dein of Agbor acknowledged the AFN’s sacrifices and dedication to the nation and beyond. He extended his gratitude to the CDS for accepting the apology from the people of Okouma following the tragic incident in March 2024, where military personnel lost their lives. The monarch praised the military’s role in not only protecting the nation but also fostering economic growth and stability.
The visit reinforced the significance of traditional institutions in supporting national efforts towards peace, unity, and development.
