Tinubu Posthumously Honours Late COAS Lagbaja with CFR Award

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday posthumously conferred the prestigious Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) award on the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.
The declaration was made during the interment ceremony held at the National Cemetery in Mogadishu, Abuja, to honour the fallen military leader.
Speaking at the solemn event, President Tinubu extolled the virtues of the late general, praising his unwavering dedication to national security and describing him as a true patriot.
“The appointment of Lagbaja as the Chief of Army Staff was one of my finest decisions,” the President remarked.
The ceremony drew an array of dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Minister of Defence, state governors, and senior military officials, all gathered to pay their respects to the late warrior.
