Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Dominic has spoken candidly about the growing pressure on public figures to overshare their private lives, stating that she deliberately chooses to keep her marriage away from public scrutiny.

In a reflective statement, Dominic said there is an increasing expectation for celebrities to constantly prove happiness, monetize intimacy, and provide public access to their personal relationships. She described such demands as “noise,” stressing that her relationship does not exist to satisfy public expectations or social media algorithms.

According to the actress, yielding to this pressure often causes couples to focus more on managing public perception than nurturing genuine emotional connections. She noted that when relationships become performative, authenticity is gradually replaced with anxiety, as every action is calculated and every moment of silence is questioned.

Dominic emphasized that she has consciously rejected that model, insisting that her marriage is not a public relations exercise but a private institution that deserves protection. She explained that maintaining clear boundaries helps reduce unnecessary friction and preserves emotional well-being.
