The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, has met with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Nigeria, Mr. Tak Namgung, ahead of the forthcoming Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers Meeting scheduled to hold in Seoul, South Korea.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Kimibie Ebienfa, the high-level meeting will bring together ministers and representatives from 54 African countries as part of efforts to build on the outcomes and momentum generated from the inaugural Korea-Africa Summit.

The meeting is expected to focus on strengthening cooperation in critical sectors, including energy, logistics, and supply chains, particularly in response to emerging global geopolitical and economic challenges.

Discussions will also centre on expanding economic and strategic partnerships through enhanced trade relations, green transition initiatives, and digital innovation in line with objectives established during the 2024 summit.

The engagement between Nigeria and South Korea reflects growing diplomatic and economic cooperation aimed at promoting mutual interests and unlocking new opportunities across key development sectors.

Officials say the upcoming ministerial meeting is expected to further strengthen Africa-Korea relations and create pathways for deeper collaboration in areas critical to sustainable development and economic growth.
