AANI Alumni Donate Drugs, Medical Supplies to Support Cholera Response in Borno
The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), Borno and Yobe States Chapter, has donated a large consignment of drugs and medical consumables to support ongoing efforts to contain the cholera outbreak in affected communities across Borno State.
The humanitarian intervention was led by Distinguished Dr. Bulama Mali Gubio, mni, alongside other distinguished members of the association.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Borno State Government, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health and Human Services, Dr. Shettima Maina Mohammed, mni, expressed appreciation to AANI for its timely support and commitment to the wellbeing of residents affected by the outbreak.
Dr. Mohammed, who was accompanied by directors and members of the State Cholera Response Team, described the donation as a significant contribution to the state’s ongoing emergency response efforts.
He assured the delegation that the donated medicines and medical consumables would be promptly distributed to identified cholera hotspot communities to strengthen treatment efforts, support healthcare workers and help save lives.
The Borno State Government commended AANI for its intervention and called for continued collaboration among government institutions, professional bodies, development partners and humanitarian organisations in responding to public health emergencies across the state.
