“With 108 students from the Faculty of Engineering Technology and 134 from the Faculty of Environmental Technology of the university.

“The university has no cause to be disappointed whatsoever; from reports reaching us about this great polytechnic we have not made the wrong decision in bestowing our confidence in you.

“ I therefore, call on you to keep the flag flying and never have any cause to disappoint us. Students’ matriculation is a cardinal requirement for qualifying any admitted student as a bonafide member of a University,” Abdulaziz said.

He advised the students to be law abiding, adding that any student who misbehaved would be shown the way out.

“ATBU and Federal Polytechnic Bauchi have something in common, zero tolerance ‘to all forms of social vices’’, he said.

Earlier, Mr Sanusi Gumau, the Rector Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, expressed appreciation for the Polytechnic’s 42 years without interruption on its academic sojourn.

“It is an epoch moment because for the first time we are witnessing our first set of degree students, spread across our schools of Engineering Technology and Environmental Technology, in affiliation with the prestigious Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, being matriculated,” he said.

Gumau assured that the Federal Polytechnic was up to the task, adding that it was well equipped with adequate manpower and laboratories which were the prerequisites for training degree students.

“We came to this conclusion taking a cue from the comments and submissions of the resource verification team from the National Universities Commission (NUC)’’, the Rector said.

He asked students to take advantage of these opportunities provided by the Institution to achieve their goals of becoming useful citizens of the world.
