In a momentous event attended by dignitaries and military officials, Nigeria revealed its ambitious plans for the construction of the Invictus Center, aimed at providing comprehensive rehabilitation for wounded soldiers and veterans of the Armed Forces.

The occasion, graced by the presence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry, and Meghan, showcased Nigeria’s commitment to supporting its servicemen and women in their journey towards recovery and healing.

Prince Harry, deeply moved by the initiative, praised Nigeria for becoming the first African nation to join the Invictus community.

He emphasized the importance of providing holistic support to service members and their families, acknowledging the ripple effect of trauma within communities.

In response, the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Muhammed Badaru, expressed gratitude to the royal couple for their dedication to wounded heroes and assured continued government support for their well-being.

Highlighting the significance of the Invictus Games, Major Musa underscored its transformative impact on the lives of injured soldiers, noting the joy it brought to participants and the potential for future Olympic representation.

Representing the Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Jimmy Akpor reiterated the Nigerian Army’s commitment to supporting wounded personnel, both domestically and internationally.

He announced significant financial support for the procurement of limb prosthetics, demonstrating the army’s dedication to enhancing rehabilitation efforts.

With plans to host the Invictus Games in Nigeria and the promise of swift completion of the Invictus Center, the nation stands poised to provide world-class care for its brave servicemen and women, ensuring their journey to recovery is met with unwavering support and compassion.
