Prof Pantami Gets GFMC Backing as Gombe Group Unveils Political Movement

Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has received the endorsement of the Gombe Forward Movement Concepts (GFMC) ahead of the 2027 Gombe State governorship election, as the political group unveiled its grassroots movement in the state.
The endorsement was announced on Sunday during the unveiling of GFMC, led by Ms. Monica Yahaya Kaltho, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant.
Ms. Kaltho, who had previously indicated interest in the governorship contest, said she had decided to step down and support Prof. Pantami in what she described as a move aimed at promoting unity and advancing the collective interest of Gombe State.
The group said the decision was not merely about an individual political ambition but about building a broader platform capable of mobilising citizens and promoting development across the state.
“Beyond personal ambition, this is about the future of Gombe State,” GFMC said in a statement announcing the endorsement.
The movement said it has established a grassroots structure comprising women, youths, community leaders and other stakeholders, with its network extending from the state level to local government areas, wards and polling units.
According to GFMC, the structure will enable the group to engage communities and mobilise support as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 election.
The organisation said its vision is centred on empowering women, equipping youths and elevating communities, adding that these principles informed its decision to support Prof. Pantami.
GFMC said Prof. Pantami’s experience in public service, education, technology and digital transformation makes him a candidate capable of contributing to the development of the state.
The group expressed optimism that his experience could help strengthen human capital development, promote innovation, create economic opportunities and advance youth and women empowerment in Gombe.
It called on its members, supporters and other stakeholders to unite behind Prof. Pantami and participate actively and peacefully in the democratic process.
GFMC also urged well-meaning citizens across the state to support its vision as it begins its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The movement described its campaign as a collective effort focused on the people, opportunities and progress of Gombe State.
