Musawa Reviews MyCityApp Project, Reaffirms Commitment to Digital Transformation of Nigeria’s Tourism Sector

The Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to leveraging technology and innovation to strengthen Nigeria’s tourism sector and improve the visitor experience.

The Minister disclosed this after meeting with the project committee overseeing the MyCityApp initiative to review progress and discuss the next phase of implementation.

According to Musawa, the collaboration is aimed at developing a smarter and more connected tourism ecosystem that will enable visitors and residents to easily discover Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, tourist destinations, businesses, events and other experiences through an accessible digital platform.

She said the initiative would further support efforts to promote Nigeria’s tourism potential, improve access to information and showcase the country’s diverse cultural and tourism assets to a global audience.

The Minister expressed optimism about the next phase of the project, noting that the government would continue to explore the use of innovation and technology to transform the tourism sector and position Nigeria as a leading destination for visitors from across the world.

She said further updates on the initiative would be shared as implementation progresses.
