The Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) Secondary School, Asokoro, Abuja, has celebrated a major milestone with the graduation of its pioneer set of students, marking a significant chapter in the history of the institution.
The maiden graduation ceremony brought together senior officers of the Nigerian Air Force, members of NAFOWA, parents, teachers and other distinguished guests to celebrate the students’ successful completion of their secondary education.
The event also provided an opportunity to reflect on the vision behind the establishment of the school, particularly its commitment to providing quality, affordable and value-based education while nurturing future leaders.
Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour, the President of NAFOWA, Mrs Ngozi Aneke, described the graduation as the fulfilment of a vision sustained through dedication, resilience and commitment.
She noted that the graduation of the pioneer class demonstrated that the school’s mission of promoting academic excellence, discipline, integrity and leadership was already producing positive results.
Mrs Aneke also acknowledged the contributions of the former NAFOWA National President, Mrs Elizabeth Amao, whose visionary leadership played a key role in the establishment of the school.
She urged the graduating students to remain worthy ambassadors of their families, the school, NAFOWA, the Nigerian Air Force and Nigeria by upholding the values of integrity, humility, discipline and excellence.
The NAFOWA President further encouraged students still in the school to draw inspiration from the achievements of the pioneer graduating class, stressing that success requires hard work, consistency, determination and resilience.
The ceremony featured the presentation of certificates and awards to outstanding students in recognition of their academic achievements and exemplary character.
In her vote of thanks, the Commandant of NAFOWA Secondary School, Flight Lieutenant Ngozi Ogbo, expressed appreciation to the NAFOWA President, members of the Association, parents, teachers and other guests for their continued support towards the development of the institution.
She commended members of staff for their dedication and commitment to nurturing the pioneer students and congratulated the graduating class for making history as the school’s first set of alumni.
Flight Lieutenant Ogbo reaffirmed the school’s commitment to maintaining high standards of academic excellence, discipline and moral values as the institution continues its mission of preparing young Nigerians for leadership and responsible citizenship.
