He noted that fitness plays a vital role in sharpening alertness, boosting endurance, and enhancing decision-making under pressure, all of which are key to addressing the nation’s complex security challenges.

“Physically fit and mentally alert personnel perform better under demanding conditions. This route march is more than a fitness routine—it is a symbol of unity, strength, and discipline,” Musa stated.

He emphasized that teamwork and mutual respect among security forces are essential for maintaining peace and stability across the country, urging participants to sustain the spirit of collaboration beyond the parade grounds.

“This exercise reminds us that we operate as one united force, committed to peace, cohesion, and discipline,” the CDS said, commending the level of synergy demonstrated during the march.

He called on security agencies to replicate such cooperation in joint missions and intelligence-sharing efforts to effectively tackle Nigeria’s evolving security landscape.

“As guardians of our nation’s sovereignty, our unseen sacrifices remain the foundation of Nigeria’s stability,” Musa added, while commending personnel for their dedication and patriotism.

He urged all security operatives to stay resilient and loyal to national service, stressing that Nigeria’s present challenges call for renewed unity and collective responsibility.

AVM Olatunde reaffirmed that combat effectiveness depends heavily on physical and mental preparedness.

“Without strong physical and mental health, no soldier can perform optimally. This march is essential for maintaining readiness and sustaining high operational standards,” he said.

The 2025 route march, which featured participants from the Armed Forces, paramilitary institutions, and other security agencies, further strengthened unity and cooperation among Nigeria’s defence and security architecture.
